Find out how to unlock your family history in the company of Tristram Clarke, archivist at the National Records of Scotland. In his talk, ‘Tracing Your Scottish Ancestors’, Tristram Clarke will focus on the key records, indispensable as a source for family historians, historians and biographers. He will also share some of the knowledge he has gained over 40 years in the Archives which may inspire you to embark on your own path of family history research.
Tristram Clarke is also Editor of the National Archives official family history handbook Tracing Your Scottish Ancestors, now in its sixth edition, whose new features include searching the 1911 census, pre-1841 censuses and how to find prison staff and witches.
Concessions are available to students, registered disabled (plus one carer), registered unemployed, under 16s and Young Scot card holders. Proof of entitlement will be required at the door for all events. Thank you.
