In 1992 window cleaner, Jason Lewis, set out from the Greenwich Meridian Line to become the first to circle the globe using only the power of the human body with no assistance from motors or sails. His 46,505-mile journey took 13 years. His achievement gained him entry to Guinness World Records and was hailed by The Sunday Times as achieving ‘the last great first for circumnavigation’.
Biking, hiking and inline skating overland; kayaking, swimming, rowing and pedaling his unique ocean-going craft over rivers, oceans and seas; his journey took him west through Europe to America, the Pacific and on through Asia, Africa, the Middle East and back via Europe to Greenwich. In his inspirational trilogy, The Expedition, Jason Lewis reveals the courage, determination and strength required to keep right on to the end of an almost impossible journey.
Concessions are available to students, registered disabled (plus one carer), registered unemployed, under 16s and Young Scot card holders. Proof of entitlement will be required at the door for all events. Thank you.
