In the intimate atmosphere of the Great Steward’s Dining Room, award winning author and illustrator of children's books, in Night Shift, Debbi Gliori uses stunning black and white illustration and deceptively simple text to describe her life-long depression and how it affects the sufferers’ whole outlook on life. Matt Haig, author of the bestselling Reasons to Stay Alive, says: “Her pictures offer people an insight into depression that words often struggle to reach. She makes visible the invisible”.
Growing up an only child in Glasgow, Debi Gliori is best known for the humorous Pure Dead series and superb picture books. Night Shift is for people of all ages wanting to understand mental illness. Debi aims to show fellow sufferers that there can be an escape - it may not be easy to find, but it is there.
Concessions are available to students, registered disabled (plus one carer), registered unemployed, under 16s and Young Scot card holders. Proof of entitlement will be required at the door for all events. Thank you.
